Our upcoming new initiative into testing for viral infections and vaccine surveillance through blood testing.
We are doing this in collaboration with the Oxford RSC (research and surveillance) centre.
Both processes are being set up currently and we will let you know when they are available to use and how to use. There are attached links on what would be involved when completely set up.
'Serology - This involves an additional blood test to check for vaccine effectiveness in the population. We are performing this in children aged between 9-17 and if you are interested in participating in this research, please contact our admin team for more information.'
'Virology - This involves a nasal and throat swab to test for common viruses such as RSV, COVID and Flu type A+B. The testing can take place within the practice or via a home testing kit. The timeframe to be eligible for testing is 7 days of symptoms (such as sore throat, runny nose, body aches, nasal congestion, cough, fevers) OR 4 days for online requests.
